6. Reading the Bible to polish up our control techniques in order to help us manipulate people or to research Bible verses in ordeer to help us to make a point or win an argument.
7. Reading the Bible when we are in a crisis with relationships, careers, or terminal situations.
8. Reading the Bible to critique or discredit it.  Looking for ways to find fault or contradictions.
9. Researching topics that will justify our questionable values or morals.

What are the RIGHT REASONS for reading, researching, and applying the truths of God’s Written Word?

1, It is the only truth that will survive this earth and be in heaven forever. Texts: Matthew 24:35; Isaiah 40:8; Isaiah 55:11; Psalm 119:89; Matthew 5:18; 1 Peter 1:23, 25.
2. It is commanded of us in Scripture. [See "The Bible About the Bible" Link] Texts: Psalm 119 ~ The whole chapter --- especially verses 9-18, 33-34, 44, 55-57, 62, 71-75, 89, 97, 101, 103, 105. 130, 133, 144, 148, 160, & 165; Matthew 4:3,4; Matthew 11:28-30; Matthew 28:20; Mark 2:2; John 5:38-39; John 8:31-31; John 14:15; John 15:26-17; John 17:17; Acts 6:4; 2 Timothy 1:13-14; 2 Timothy 2:2 & 15; 2 Timothy 3:15-17; 2 Peter 2:2-3; 1 John 5:2-3.
3. God’s Word shows us the John 14:6 way to heaven, truth about heaven, and eternal life in heaven.
