About Author

Virgil Reeve is a retired Baptist pastor with more than forty years in Christian Ministry.  Originally from Gila Bend, AZ, he attended Moody Bible Institute (Chicago), Greenville College, earning a degree in sociology, and a Master of Divinity at the Northern Baptist Seminary where he married the president’s daughter.  He and his wife, Evelyn Koller Reeve, started ministry together in 1961.  During the course of their marriage they have served the following churches:

· Forest Glen Baptist Church—Chicago, IL  (1963-1968)

· First Baptist Church—Keokuk, IA  (1968-1978)

· First Baptist Church—Decatur, IL  (1978-1984)

· First Baptist Church—Fremont, NE  (1984-1990)

· First Chinese Baptist Church (Cantonese) - Fresno, CA (1990-1995)

· First Baptist Church—Ashtabula, OH (1996-2003)

· Oak Park Avenue Baptist Church—Berwyn, IL (interim, 2004-2005)

After 54 years of using seven study Bibles in seven different versions while serving in seven churches, Virgil V. Reeve is now excited and passionately serving Jesus Christ (The “Living Word” as a Bible study encourager and motivator.
